Pink’s Hot Dogs in Hollywood is turning 70 this week. What’s the big deal you ask? First of all, HOW DARE YOU ASK THAT?!?!?! Secondly, allow us to tell you.

Pink’s is one of the most famous and iconic eateries in Los Angeles. In a town where a restaurant that has been around ten years is “old”, Pink’s has outlived and outshined many that have come and gone during its 70 year reign as King of the late night cravings. It is THE place to go after a night of clubbing at Guys and Dolls or Foxtail, and EVERYONE WHO’S ANYONE has eaten here.

Orson Welles once ate EIGHTEEN Pink’s Hot Dogs in one sitting! Elizabeth Taylor, John Malkovich, Eddie Murphy, Matt Le Blanc, Barbra Streisand, Maria Shriver and MANY MANY more frequent Pink’s regularly.

So unassuming. So famous.

Bruce Willis proposed to Demi Moore at Pink’s (When Ashton was in diapers), Tom Hanks always orders Pink’s for the cast and crew when he wraps a movie, and Matt Le Blanc told Pink’s that when he became famous, they have to put his picture on the wall with all the other stars already up there–and they did!

As Pink’s turns 70 this week, Bill Cosby came down to wish Beverly Pink, the current owner and daughter of the founder a Happy Birthday and reminisced about times gone by. “I’ve know (Beverly’s) Father for years,” Bill Cosby said. “This is for me to celebrate her Father. She took over in a way a Father would want his kids to. I’m here for the spirit of her Father.”

Good to see the Landmark eatery is in such good hands. They have every kind of Hot Dog imaginable, including the Martha Stewart Dog, The Harry Potter Dog and the Rosie O’Donnell Dog.  Our favorite is the classic Pink’s Chili Cheese Dog!! We eat two every time we go!

Next time you are in Los Angeles, stop by Pink’s in Hollywood and get a Hot Dog! Be prepared to wait in line, even the celebrities have to, so you may find yourself waiting for a Chili Cheese Dog with Robert Pattinson or Megan Fox!
