EARLY OSCARS TO BE AWARDED THIS EVENING

It's all Happening here tonight

Though the Oscar Telecast won’t happen until March, in a break with tradition, the Academy is awarding its honorary Oscars this evening in a private event in the Grand Ballroom above The Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.

Some 600 guests will be attending to honor Actress Lauren Bacall, Producer/Director Roger Corman, Cinematographer Gordon Willis and Irving J. Thalberg Award Recipient, Producer John Calley. All have made an indelible mark on Hollywood and The Entertainment World and puts these luminaries into the halls of the immortal players of the Silver Screen.

Lauren Bacall has starred in more than 30 films including her big screen debut “To Have and Have not” where she met her future husband, Humphrey Bogart. She also starred in such classics as The Big Sleep, Key Largo and Misery. Truly a link between Old Hollywood and the Present!!!

Roger Corman has Directed 50 films and produced over 300, including Little Shop of Horrors and It Conquered the World. He is also responsible for helping start the careers of many Hollywood Superstars including Jack Nicholson.

Annette Bening, Tom Hanks, Kirk Douglas, Anjelica Houston and Quentin Tarantino will be presenters for this Star Studded event, and some of the other guests will include Jeff Bridges, Dennis Hopper, Ron Howard and James Cameron.

Academy President Tom Sherak said the Governor’s Awards Event, “will be full of memorable moments celebrating (the Honorees) accomplishments.”

No word on why The Academy is deciding to hold the honorary Oscars earlier. Perhaps they feel people are not interested in the honorary awards for the telecast? We are!!!!!! There’s Nothing better than Old Hollywood Glamour!!!!!! Who wouldn’t want to see Lauren Bacall accepting her Honorary Oscar Live!!!!!! The awards will be taped and excerpts will be played during the Osacars on March 7th, but it’s not the same!!!!

Big mistake people!!! Another inexplicable Hollywood decision…..
