The Hotel Bel Air

The Hotel Bel Air, in Bel Air California (right next to Beverly Hills) will undergo a procedure that many aging Hollywood icons have done–it is getting a facelift.

The Hotel, owned by the Sultan of Brunei, will re-open in mid 2011 after an extensive remodeling which includes updating all 91 rooms, and the addition of 12 new Villas. Mobile Phone reception at the Hotel has always been a problem, and that will be addressed as well.

The Historic Hotel is famed for its lush gardens, swans swimming in its pools, and a 60-year-old Lonchocarpus Tree that spreads over the outdoor portion of the restaurant like an umbrella.

The Hotel has been the center of many well-known moments and events. One of Marilyn Monroe’s most famous photo shoots took place there with Photographer Bert Stern, which he himself re-created last year with Lindsey Lohan (though why with her, we will never understand).

Hmmmmm.....

Elizabeth Taylor spent her Honeymoon there with Conrad Hilton, her first husband, and Patti Reagan, daughter of former American President Ronald Reagan married her Yoga instructor on the premises. Everyone from Angelina Jolie to Tom Cruise to Julia Roberts has been to the Hotel.

We have spent many a night at the piano bar listening to the music, drinking wine and chatting with our friends! We look forward to it re-opening and looking better than ever!!
